2022/03  R+L Anniversary in Las Vegas

We checked in early at the Bellagio. Everything was fantasic. The room was great and had a view of the fountain. The fountain seemed to go off erratically and you could see them working on it frequently. However, it went off many times while we were there and if you tune into their channel you can hear the music it is set to. Widely ranging from Sinatra to modern hits. The curtains and drapes were controlled by push button - neat!

We then went to Diablo's for lunch (Luxor) where they gave us Anniversary shots (yay!) We then headed over to MGM hoping to see some stars. It was PACKED. There were long lines of people dressed to the 9's just to take a pic on the fake red carpet (bizarre). The famous people we did see, we didn't recognize and they had severe attitudes. The A-listers clearly had their own entrance and kept out of sight.

Virgil's BBQ (Linq Promenade) was great! I had heard about their Bloody Mary's and wanted to check it out. It was amazing! It made me want to try their BBQ. The beef and pork BBQ was great but I have to agree with Lisa that the chicken was dry. Service was AMAZING! My sandwich bun came covered in sesame seeds. I can have a few but that many would upset my stomach. They had no issue taking it back and putting it on a brioche bun. It was good.

The high-light of this portion of the trip was definitely the Mayfair Supper Club (Bellagio). I had tried to book it a few weeks prior and there were no openings. I called Amex concierge services (I figured why not) and they were able to get us a table. Up front! It was an amazing show with great food. There were 2 trapeze artists and one them was above me. She stopped spinning, looked down, smiled and said "Hi!" I don't think that the pictures do it justice. Service was also impeccable.

A lot of people highly recommend Lago. It was very good but you are mainly paying for service and ambiance. The highlight for me, was that the octopus in the cioppino did melt in the mouth and was delicious. But it was spendy for what you get. The $20 cocktails were good but, again, nothing that you can't get elsewhere...for less with less of a wait (yes, we had reservations). Lisa's meal (lobster ravioli) could have been from anywhere. People were dressed to the 9's and the service excellent. Maybe it is because the place was crowded and busy that it negated the romantic ambiance of the Bellagio Fountain set to Frank Sinatra, but I think that the $ is better spent at Mayfair.
