2022/03 R+L Anniversary in Las Vegas
First we also went to Ocean One (Miracle Mile Shops). It's a great place to get cheap eats and drink. Their lunch menu is all $5 and you get 3 for $10 drinks. The drinks is a great deal because they are good. We also learned that you can get all 3 of your drinks (shots) in 1 drink! The food? Well, it's $5. Better than you would think for $5 though. Fancy it is not.
For our last night we moved to the Cosmo our favorite hotel/casino. We recently got Marriott Bonvoy gold status and it was amazing there. From the "Invited Guest" line they had us go into the Priority Lounge where there are couches, coffee, tea, etc. They gave us early check in, late check out, and bottled water. We already had a terrace balcony room but they claimed it was "upgraded" (different floor maybe). Service was amazing. The room, however, was not. It smelled like weed. I am not a prude and don't usually complain but it was unbearably strong in the entire room. A quick chat at the front desk and we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite. It was HUGE. Two complete bathrooms with showers - sitting room - dining room and a soaking tub! The pics don't do it justice.
We popped by Secret Donkey (Cosmo) which is a tequila bar speakeasy. If you haven't been, go to the food court and look for a door in the seating area that has a donkey on it. It is tiny in there but if you can get a seat, the drinks are always good and the food (mostly appetizers) are unique.
We had a great view of the Bellagio Fountain from the room at the Cosmo and it was working running about every 15mins while we were there.
Our last day was 85 degrees and sunny! We went to the Wicked Spoon buffet. Everyone raves about this place. The best thing about it was that Bonvoy status members don't have to wait in line or have a reservation - that was a good thing because we had a reservation but missed it by several hours (oops!)
They were transitioning from breakfast to lunch. They didn't really have much for either. What was there tasted like it had been there for a while! They put out crab and Lisa was excited, but very disappointed as it had little to no flavor. I am glad that we got a 2 for 1 deal on it.
We got a late flight out (there was little choice to make it back on the day we needed) but I have to say that even with late checkout we ended up wandering the Strip. For lunch, Lisa tried In N' Out for the first time and was not impressed. They won't give you mayo btw.
At the airport we went to the Club LV Lounge (Priority Pass). There wasn't much food, but they had a full bar. The soup was really good too. It was nice to have somewhere to sit and enjoy a beer before flying out. Speaking of flying out, we had to buy Alaska's "premium" main class seats. They include a free drink. You can get a double ;) We both did Bloody Mary's. The lady next to us was upset that she was only allowed one can of wine lol.
And then back to Seattle. Where yesterday (4/14) it snowed. Wacky!
