2022/04 Las Vegas for Lisa's Birthday
This is the photo dump....this is a draft.
We stayed our final night at Bellagio, comp'd by myVegas Rewards. We were in the room for about 15 mins when there was a knock at the door and what turned out to be a house keeper came immediately in! She made up an excuse of checking in on the room and that is when I realized that I was in my boxer shorts lol. We got comp'd $100 food and beverage credit. So, our lunch, late night dinner, and 2 Starbucks runs were free! The staff was super nice and apologetic. I feel like she was likely more traumatized by the event lol
We enjoyed the buffet at Southpoint. That is a casino quite a bit south of the Strip. Fri night they have crab so wanted to check it out. Also, they have a bowlingalley and a movie theater for anyone thinking of bringing kids. The buffet was good - a warning though, it was over an hour wait! However, we were so far away from anything else felt invested. The buffet does include 2 drink vouchers per person for wine or beer. We met a nice retired couple in line and ate dinner with them. They did not drink so that was 8 drinks for Reg. Those Palms water bottles hold a lot. Between the free drinks at Palms and the free beer at South Point, I drank for free that night.
For dinner one night we also wanted to go the Mirage to see the volcano at night and also try one of Tom Colicchio's steakhouses - he has several in Vegas and around the country. I am not a fan of chains for steak but haven't tried and this one will be shutting down when the Mirage does so it seemed lie an opportunity to do so. Unfortunately, there was a huge wind/dust storm so the volcano was not operating.
Heritage Steak service was very good. The steak was also cooked to perfection. Rare really was rare! However, I was not a fan of the seasoning. They over season it and I am not sure why. Kind of an A1 type of seasoning and I don't mind A1 but not on that expensive of a steak. The salad was very good. It's the first time I have enjoyed an anchovy with my Caesar. As for the Mirage, we had a blast. We are sorry to see it go.
