was a result of the old (Wordpress) site being hacked - yet again.
It is one of the reasons that I moved to this new site.
Unfortunately, when my host detects malicious files they shut the whole domain down.
If you are wondering why it is still running, it is because all the legacy posts have their images hot-linked to it.
I will be working on a way to freeze the old site so that we aren't impacted here again.

I just wanted to give a quick update.
Please excuse the mess, even though we are fully operational I am still tweaking the site and building it out. You will find several areas that I am hoping to build out and reorganize. If you would like to contribute or have any ideas let me know!
1. I am working to simplify the downloads section. I also plan on adding an upload section.
2. If you had an account on the old site it was migrated here. You will need to do a password reset however.
3. A couple of the instructor discount files have been updated: the FreedomGroup (Rem, DPMS, Bushmaster, Barnes) has been changed to a zip since I now have the MSRP price lists. The Sig file has been changed to a zip and now includes the price list and order form

I am very close to switching over the site to this new one. If you had a user account at firearms.fortreg.com
it should have been migrated here.
The password schemes from Wordpress, however, do not translate over so the password will be: instructor
You can also reset it, I have also changed from PHPmail to authenticated SMTP mail.
I want to thank Lou for helping test a number of functions on the new site!

Hi,
The site was hacked again, I was notified by my ISP (at least they gave me a chance to remove them before shutting the site down this time).
Sorry that we down briefly today - I also found some questionable files and had to clean them up - reverting to backup. I will be accelerating the site's move to Joomla.

Registration working? Getting a lot of password resets

I know that folks have been registering on the site. I have noticed that there have been a lot of password resets.
Is there a problem with the registration process?
These last few WordPress "upgrades" have been knocking out functionality and I am having a lot of plugin conflicts for the first time since opening the blog. Please let me know if there are problems, or you can't get to what you are looking for. Please comment below or feel free use the "Contact" button or email me remat(at)yahoo(dot)com directly.
I am now looking into an alternative software solution for the site since it become troublesome to do basic things.

What site enhancements would you like to see?
Just off the top of my head here are some thoughts...Please let me know if you would use or wouldn't use.
1. photo hosting - i'm tired of using Flickr et al for posting on forums
2. contributors - i'm looking for folks interested in posting content, articles, reviews, etc. It can be 1 specific post, regular series, or as you feel like writing something.
3. personal training page - area for you, listing of your training, etc.
4. ???

Sorry about the unexpected downtime last night/today. Migrating sites/domains/subdomains turns out to be logistically harder than anticipated. Moving pieces one at a time apparently wasn't a good idea as the name resolutions appear to be connected and some took effect quickly while others took a few to many hours. Hard to tell what was still pending transfer in order to fix problems.
Anyway, we appear to be operating mostly. If something doesn't work immediately please give me some time to get it up and running again. You can always use the contact page or comment it to me so I can fast track it.

Just a heads up that this weekend we will be moving to a new (much faster) web host.

Pardon the changes! I am in the process of making some changes and updates to the website to make it easier to use.
The previous theme had some problems requiring that I edit the code to make simple changes. This theme seems clean and is very expandable. I am still in the process of tweaking it, so that it works like I want it to.
The recent updates will also look a little strange, I am reorganizing posts and apparently it flags as a "change" and puts the posts in the box. Oh well, eventually as I stop changing things it will look right.

You might have noticed that this site (and my others) were blacked out (unavailable) from 8am - 4pm. My apologies to those trying to access it the site.
I believe that the First & Second Amendment go hand and hand (that is why Madison put them together at the top). If one is compromised then the other is not far behind.
With government controlled censorship there is little that we can do to predict or stop it. This site could simply disappear because the topic of "firearms" is deemed inappropriate (hence the sample blackout today).
This bill has a lot of big $$$ backers behind it and we need to contact our legislators to stop it.

I am discontinuing the use of Flickr, but there may still be a few posts/links of pics that don't work. I will be fixing them as I find them.
I am also watermarking the pics now as I have had some recent problems with someone claiming that one is actually their own. They aren't great but they are mine and it does take some effort to take the pics and post them so I would like credit.
Actually, they are still on Flickr, but free accounts aren't allowed to edit pics which means when I re-uploaded them they now have new URL's. Boo. 200 pic limit stinks anyway.
...and yes, I am still searching for a new Wordpress theme. I am still getting complaints on this one.
apparently didn't work (like 2011 KAHR price list). They are fixed now.

Sorry for any erratic behavior today. I am trying to upgrade to WP3.1 and a few plugins. It is not going as smoothly as hoped.
UPDATE:
WP3.1 upgrade completed. I didn't realize it required a DB upgrade, which made it difficult to roll back. Luckily, pressing on resolved the issues and it was "successfull."
Also upgraded the contact plugin software, and with some tweaking it now works.
