If you live in the State of Washington you need to contact your state representatives!!!

Attorney General Bob Ferguson's magazine ban is moving forward -- it has been APPROVED by Committee and will be presented to the House!

Please read the bill! You will NOT be able to even carry your magazines in your CCW pistol!
WA House Bill 1068

"(3) In order to continue to possess a large capacity magazine that was legally possessed on the effective date of this section, the person possessing the large capacity magazine shall possess the large capacity magazine only on property owned or immediately controlled by the person, or while engaged in the legal use of the large capacity magazine at a duly licensed firing range, or while engaged in a1 lawful outdoor recreational activity such as hunting, or while traveling to or from either of these locations for the purpose of engaging in the legal use of the large capacity magazine, provided that the large capacity magazine is stored unloaded and in a separate locked container during transport."

There are indeed strange times.

Microsoft's Bill Gates seems to now think that that he knows better than law enforcement unions/groups and sheriffs in WA and is dumping millions into anti-gun initiative 594. He is even at odds with Microsoft's own gun club (yep, there is one).

I am still waiting to hear what size soda he thinks I should be drinking/allowed to buy.
Maybe I would have if I hadn't moved our family off of Windows Phone 8.1. Oh Cortana, what have your masters done!?

But on the flip-side, Apple just hired a designer that recently designed a beautiful SxS shotgun. That's a side-by-side for whoever wrote the new "Purge" movie -- it's not "Es Ex Es."

Wacky times.

http://www.federalwaymirror.com/news/171215821.html?mobile=true Just got a tour from the owner yesterday and it is a beautiful facility! The lighting is great and the air filtration system is phenomenal (clean, quiet, unobtrusive) and the range is heated.

Sword...machete...butter knife....pencil...that's news accuracy nowadays...weird story though. I repost it because of the news media portrayal of "assault weapons" and "bullet proof vests." Makes you wonder about what else they are misleading/wrong about. WA: Sunnyside man uses sword to stop intruder inside his home http://t.co/Sum2KMJk -- thegunwire (@thegunwire)

Neat! He's got my vote, and yes, I live in King Co. http://www.king5.com/news/Go-shootin-with-King-County-Sheriff-162975326.html

So, Seattle, the city repeatedly busted by the courts for violating state firearms laws is now waiting for new Federal gun laws because it is powerless to act against crime? http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/northwestvoices/2018650275_gunviolencelet11.html

You read about it here first! (probably)

Local Gun Shop (LGS) Federal Way Discount Guns (Federal Way, WA) will be opening an indoor range this year!!

Federal Way Discount Guns has long been my favorite local shop. They have great prices and also is where my gunsmith (Karl) is. For samples of his work check out the pics of the front and back strap stippling on my HiPower on this blog. Or check out my HiPower gallery: HERE. He also recently added a C&S hammer, sear, and a did a trigger job on it which I will be writing up shortly.

The range will be located minutes away from its current location (City of Federal Way, South  King County, WA) and feature 16 modernly lit and ventilated lanes!

I actually don't have too much information on it yet and I am not sure where they are in the process of making it happen  (permits? building? etc) but was told that they were looking to open during the 3rd quarter this year (2012).

I for one applaud them and look forward to shooting there and hopefully will be a place to host some training classes!

Finally an end to Seattle's madness started by Mayor Nichols. This illegal gun ban in parks violated state preemption. Seattle was warned by the AG, ruled against in court, and on appeal. The city not giving up and apparently having lawyers that can't read opined that the Legislature didn't mean to preempt firearms and clearly set the exemptions for local municipalities, even though that is exactly what they did.

By declining review the WA State Supreme Court has ended Seattle's legal battle for an illegal law (figure that one out) also ending this particular waste of taxpayer money.

Still on Seattle's books? It is illegal to sit with an open umbrella. No kidding!
