Pistol match makes news!

Written by

It is so rare and refreshing to see pistol match info posted in a local newspaper and picked up by Yahoo News (even if it is tailored in my area). I had to screen capture it:

Here is the actual link to the article if you are interested:

So, I have an AmSec safe. It is a little one, that replaced a gun cabinet. It is not our primary safe, in fact other than a few items it is used mainly for my wife's things. She complained that the lock was sticking.

After taking a look it became apparent that the bottom door bolt when unlocked was going in too far and catching on the lip on the way out. It was the only bolt that had this problem.

Here is a pic of it. You shouldn't see any of the inside:

Here is a pic of one of the other bolts, notice how everything is flush:

It was pretty easy to fix. I simply adjusted the 3 center bolts so that the bolt bar pushes the bottom bolt further out. I actually took it out to bend it outward, but it looks pretty straight.

Following is a picture of the inside of the firewall (about 12 screws hold it on). Notice the finger print marks. They are not from me, this is before I made any adjustments -- it came from the factory that way.
The circled area shows the bolts I had to loosen to adjust the bar.

Here is a pic of the bolt bar removed, circled are where the bolts hold it:

There you to. A little bit of tweaking and it is back in service (and locks again).

UPDATE 4/4:
Got my new Fox CFP90 (drop shipped direct) today! It looks to be a very nice pack. It is definitely big (which I was looking for). Haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet, but very soon I will be loading it up and doing a review with pics. Thank you Sam and CJLENTERPRIZE.COM!

UPDATE 3/26:
CJLEnterprize.com called me today! One thing Sam said that really sticks out -- and that I have always believed -- is that it is not that mistakes or problems don't happen, but how a company handles them is how they are measured. I firmly believe this and he went above and beyond to make things right.

After a brief review of what happened, he promptly refunded the original order amount and is sending me a brand CFP90 at no charge! I am extremely happy as I still need a large ruck.

Kudos to CJLENTERPRIZE.COM and their great customer service.
P.S. Also thanks to the reader that let them know about my post!

Original post (from March 24) follows:

So, I ordered a medium ALICE pack from these folks. Great price and got it in 2 days.

I then ordered a large ALICE pack and waited a month. Nothing.
I emailed asking if I could pay the difference and get a MOLLE pack instead. I paid and waited.
Another 45 days.

I asked for a refund. Twice they agreed.
I contacted PayPal and disputed the charge and the very next day got the upgrade fee back. The vendor's response to the dispute was that it was the first time that they had heard of me -- despite MANY back and forth emails about the products and they had agreed TWICE to refund it. Glad I did dispute it, a few days longer and it would have been past the eligible Paypal dispute period. So, I at least got part of my money back. Unfortunately, the original amount paid for large ALICE was way past this deadline.

I complained to the vendor I didn't get a complete refund. The vendor asked if I still wanted the large ALICE pack and I said yes (I still needed a larger ruck). They even said they put it in the mail on several queries and would show up any day. That was several months ago.

Anyway, I have more time invested in this than I spent on the pack. But, my wife recently reminded me that I never got my pack so I thought I would let folks know.

Buyer beware -- check to see if the vendor has the item in stock and check to see what recourse your payment handler (Paypal, Google Checkout, etc) has --- specifically the time limit that you can dispute. If your vendor says delivery is 30-90 days beware.

And of course: If a price seems less than other comparable vendors there is probably a reason. The combined price I paid for the medium ALICE (I did get) and the large ALICE I never got from CJLENTERPRIZE.COM I could have ordered from anywhere.
ETA: I add this addendum this because CJLENTERPRIZE does offer some of the best prices on the internet and are willing to take care of their customers should there be a problem.

Best of luck.
